Anthony Wayne Area Council
The Anthony Wayne Area Council was chartered to the relatively new Boy Scouts of America organization in April 1917, to serve boys in northeastern Indiana. Since 1917, the council has grown geographically, but the fundamental principals of our programs remain based in the mission of the Boy Scouts of America, “to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law”, which hasn’t changed since 1910.
The Anthony Wayne Area Council is the area's foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training and continues to:
-
Offer young people responsible fun and adventure;
-
Train young people in citizenship, service, and leadership;
-
Provide opportunities for adults to mentor and positively influence young people
-
Serve our communities and families with its quality, values-based program
The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
