Pokagon-Kekionga Trails
The Pokagon-Kekionga Trail Committee was formed on 1964 as a service project by Troop 352 (Fort Wayne) and Post 2162 (Garrett). This committee is dedicated to promote historical trail hiking and maintain these trails. The committee operates under the sanction of the local BSA Council and maintains these trails under the rules set forth by the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Its goal is to provide a means for the unit to improve outdoor programming, aid in Scout advancement, and provide for their achievement.
In 1970, the Anthony Wayne Area Council opened three treks and one trail at the Anthony Wayne Reservation. The trails are maintained and administered by the Trail Committee in cooperation with the Council Camping Committee.
We have 19 trails for you to hike. The trails are open to all Boy and Girl Scouts. There is no trail fee for hiking these trails.
We have six adult Scouters on our committee and over fifty Scouts who have given their time and energy to help you with your Scouting program. They receive no monetary pay, they are volunteers.
The Pokagon-Kekionga Committee would like to extend an invitation to you and your Scouts to come out and hike our many trails this summer and fall. We have all types of terrains: hills, valleys, around a lake, or through the woods. We also have great camping at the State Parks and Reservoirs.
Hiking can be a lot of fun for you and your unit! This is a great way to add some Scouting spirit into your unit's program!
